Mayor of London Fourth Plinth Schools Award
Students at London schools are asked to propose their ideas for what should be on the Fourth Plinth. The plinth creative uses a thought bubble executed in different ways and the headline ‘Use your imagination’. This campaign has been running for 13 years.
Inspired by the Japanese craft of Origami/paper models. Origami is used in various therapeutic settings, including art therapy and in stroke and injury rehabilitation. The benefits of this craft helps develop hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, logical thinking and concentration, the use of the hands directly stimulates areas of the brain. Paper is also in abundance in schools, so it’s something all kids can try. This can translate well across animation and social with a folding gif style.
